not everyone in the world

has a good day!

The being from a low caste

Can you imagine just for a moment.....?

Not being able to draw water from the village well!

Never being allowed into the social structure of the other.

Always having verbal abuses heaped on you and your family.

Always being relegated to the most menial of tasks (like toilet cleaning)

For thousands of years the Hindu religion of India and Nepal have placed vast numbers of men and women into structured systems called "caste." Although initially outlawed, it continues to survive in modern India strengthened by a combination of social perception and divisive politics.

There are servant caste, untouchable caste, sweeper caste, pastoral, nomadic, day-laborer, and the upper pure castes. In all there are as many as 65 with various degrees within several.

Advancement and opportunity are many times based on your caste background and people are often restricted from marrying outside of their caste. Family pressure is intense in these social structures.

The efforts of Globalgifts projects are always pointed toward the struggling and disadvantaged. We strive both in the rural and urban communities to assist the disenfranchised.

When you touch a life through Globalgifts, you're touching someone who needs a hand up. HELP TODAY ~
